Default Hi from Norway

Hello everyone.

I live and spearfish mainly in the southern part of Norway, where fish are mostly small and scarce. However, I do get around to other places in Norway to spearfish a few times every year, where conditions are usually better with more and bigger fish. The most commonly hunted species in Norway are pollack, cod and a range of smallish flatfish species.
I've been freedive spearfishing for at least 15 years, mostly in the warmer part of the Norwegian summer. In the past few years I've taken it a bit further and started spearfishing year round, going after the bigger fish, like large cod, pollack, coalfish and halibut. However, I still enjoy freediving and spearfishing pretty much everywhere I get the chance. Apart from spearfishing, I also enjoy rod and line fishing. I work as a scientist, mainly with fish nutrition and physiology related to aquaculture.

Cheers,
Anders

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
Visibility is quite variable. Where I live, it's usually 3-6 meters, but further north it's usually better. If you exclude the occasional algal bloom, I guess 10-15 meters is probably the norm.
