Default Performance freediving or Freediving instructors

Hello All,

I am considering enrolling in a free diving course and was wondering if you had any experience with one of the courses above? Which is the better option and why?

Thanks,

You probably wouldn't go wrong with either one, but I only have experience with PFI. I took the intermediate course and would HIGHLY recommend them. Ted and Erin are excellent instructors and they really seem to go out of their way to make sure you get the most out of the experience. They present the material in a really interesting and fun format. I think you'll be amazed with what you're capable of on the first day. Robert and Jake came out from the west coast to assist during my course. They were excellent instructors and very cool guys.

Have fun with whichever course you choose.

NY I signed up for the FII course jan15-16 as it was less expensive than pfi and seemed to be similar. i will review it after i go through it.

I took the FII Level 2 course in October, and had a great time. I can do a more thorough review when I get back home this weekend, but I will say now that I definitely recommend them. Martin and Niki were both great instructors, and are amazing divers.

I've heard great things about the FII course, as well. Have fun and let us know how it goes.

I have taken the PFI LevelII course. The course was packed full of information and cost roughly $1,000 by the time I was finished. Yes, i would recommend this course if you dive with questionable safety practices and would like to know more technical information about the sport.

If Kirk is teaching the class, it is a toss up between PFI and FII. If he does not teach the class, i would go with FII since Martin will most likely be teaching the class.

How did you like the course? How did you do?

I think many don't realize the majority of the course is not about increasing depth and time, but rather safety and physiology of free diving.
