Default I need better fins...

Maybe you all can help.

I dove this weekend for a few hours and noticed that my fins were hurting the tops of my feet. I use a pair of Waterway no 3s. May be too stiff ??? The footpockets are some old omers from around 2001. Thanks!

I'm pretty stoked with these. I had some hard pockets too causing cysts on my feet. These Omers are much softer.

I've got the same setup as hank and love it. The soft Omer millenniums are for me really comfortable especially in the instep area even with my pockets being pretty tight. The medium carbon blades really help with beach dives and long days in the water. They cruise effortlessly but still have balls when you need propulsion.

That said, footpockets fit people so differently. Make sure you find the right one for your foot.

lee, i have no experience with any other carbon blades other than the pusuit blades, but they are amazing.

I have had mine for over two years and they are in new condition less a few small scratches..i use the last model of the H dessault pocket and they are nice. I have monster feet so my FPchoices are limited.

i use the med hard and would get the medium if i could do it again.

Hurting the top of your feet is not necessarily a blade stiffness issue. Did you use socks? Could it be a rubbing pain from your feet not being conditioned because you didn't dive for a long time? Did the footpockets fit you well before? Waterway no. 3 is a tad stiff, when I was using them last I was thinking of trying no. 2. But worse than being stiff they're heavy, these blades are now obsolete. There are members here who were using them and switched over to carbon blades, they'll tell you there's no looking back.

Fin choice starts with footpocket choice. You have to try a few different ones. An omer from 2001 is a shot in the dark speculating about footpocket fit. The omer millenium I have now are all consistent in material; relatively soft pocket and moderate stiffness tendons, combine well with a medium stiffness carbon blade.

Thanks guys.

Dan, you nailed it:
Tad stiff
No socks
No diving in along time.

I will be talking to you soon. Medium carbon sounds right! Can you hook me up w pockets as well?
